Intergenerational Poverty Bill Has Been Introduced

SB360, Intergenerational Bill has been introduced and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.

The bill is rather specific, however, the key takeaways are to: establish and maintain (by the Department of Human Services) a data system to track intergenerational poverty; establish an interagency workgroup; establish an ongoing system of data sharing, policy coordination & communication among Commonwealth agencies; and establish The Pennsylvania Commission on Poverty Elimination & Economic Security.

The overall goal of SB360 is to reduce & ultimately eliminate poverty in this Commonwealth by making policy and other recommendations to the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the Commonwealth.
